Makinex is an Australian owned private company that have been experts in the design, development and distribution of innovative products since 2004, providing solutions to the construction, landscaping, equipment hire, infrastructure and related industries.

Makinex is about making inefficiencies extinct, where the name itself comes from this driving force. Makinex strives towards continuous improvement by looking closely at our business to find unique, innovative and practical product solutions that provide contractors and tradespeople with a better way to do their jobs to save time, physical effort and money. We believe that ‘good enough’ is never enough for our customers.

With plans to expand the existing designed product range, growth in local and global markets and a commitment to ongoing research and development, Makinex is experiencing tremendous growth, particularly in our own line of designed and manufactured products.

Rory Kennard

I have always wanted to make things work better faster and easier. My quest to make inefficiencies extinct started when I ran a product design business for 15 years, which then lead to Makinex 11 years ago.

I am driven by the ability to invent products that make a difference, products that put a smile on people’s faces when they first see and use the product. I also enjoy working with the team who create the success of Makinex.

My experience is 25 years of Sales and Logistics Management.

What I particularly  like about working at Makinex is taking new innovative  products to existing markets which offer genuine efficiencies in how our customers perform their work. I also appreciate how management allows the employees to express and implement their ideas. It makes you feel like you are actually contributing to the success in the growth of the business.

Chris Ward
NSW Account Manager

Chris is new to the Makinex Team but not to the industry.

Chris comes from an extensive background of technical and solutions based sales with strong experience in pumps, pressure cleaners and power source.

He has been involved in the Pump Industry for the past 16 years, predominately selling pumps and booster systems into the building services market in NSW.

Working with companies such as Australian Pump Industries, selling engine drive pumps and pressure washers.

Outside of work he’s a proud husband and father to 2 little girls. On weekends loves Hiking, Kayaking, Running or Cycling.

Chris is also very involved as a volunteer with the NSW SES

I have worked at Makinex for the last 9 years and watched the business grow.

I have 10 years’ experience in the construction industry working with/maintaining a variety of construction tools and equipment.

The thing I enjoy most about working at Makinex is the team culture that the company has and the willingness of everyone to work together to get to the required outcome.

Stuart Reynolds
National Sales Manager

Stuart has a plethora of industry knowledge and contacts with 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. He has sold and been associated with brands such as Master Finish, Chapin, Marshalltown, Bartell and Easymix.


He brings with him strong experience in change management which will support Makinex in its current growth period and will be looking at growing their dealership network and relationships.

Stuart says that he hopes to build business growth and the Makinex brand profile across a greater breadth of the market, utilising his skills, experience and knowledge to better service and support the Australian Market, with products that provide consistent performance benefits

In his spare time loves the outdoor lifestyle and socialising with friends and family around the BBQ.

Chris Hills
Victorian Area Manager

Chris has recently joined us at Makinex, and comes with a wealth of experience, with a background in sales of huge variety of construction suppliers over the last 20 years.

We also hear that Chris is handy to have in your team at a trivia night.

Matt Cape
Design Manager

Matt comes to Makinex with nearly 17 years design experience across medical, dental and consumer goods. He has worked for some of Australia’s well known design consultancies with clients including global brands such as Proctor & Gamble. For the past 10 years he has worked as R&D manager bringing products from beginnings through to production and the entire product life cycle.

Matt will be working on new product developments for Makinex.
